What are the long-term effects of CIMT?

According to studies by Wolf et al. (2008), CIMT has lasting effects on adult stroke patients. At 24 months after receiving CIMT for two weeks, these individuals can be seen as having retained the improvements of their functional performance and for many, their grasp, strength, social participation, performance in ADL and IADL continue to improve since 12 months. Studies have shown moderate improvements for acute stroke patients and strong improvements for subacute and chronic stroke patients (for patients with some active wrist and hand movement)
